Coastal Resources of Interest

PelicanNetwork is an internet based network of conservation groups on the California Central Coast.

They led the campaign last year to stop the Navy plan to bomb Big Sur - and the campaign to stop the once through cooling for the Moss Landing Power Plant.


Washington State's Department of Ecology has their own web site with aerial photographs of the state of Washington.

A stunning KQED documentary from 1973 resurfaces.

The San Francisco Bay Area TV Archive recently collaborated with film maker Philip Greene to preserve and make available online his 1973 KQED documentary The Place for no Story. John Carlson of Monaco Digital Film Labs worked on this digital restoration of the best surviving 16mm film prints.


The Shoreline Preservation Fund provides funds to enhance, protect and restore the shoreline associated with UCSB through preservation, education, open access, research, and restoration.


Gaviota Coast Conservancy
The vision of the Gaviota Coast Conservancy is the permanent protection of the Gaviota Coast's unique natural, scenic, agricultural, recreational, and cultural resources.


Environmental Defense Center
The EDC is a non-profit public interest environmental law firm that provides education, advocacy and legal services to community groups dedicated to environmental protection on California's South Central Coast (Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties).
